Pakistan: Earthquake of magnitude 5.8 jolts areas in Pakistan, including Islamabad, Peshawar, Gilgit Baltistan, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The news was officially reported by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The earthquake is reported to have occurred at 11:21 a.m., according to sources. The earthquake was 10 km deep and affected numerous areas. However, the epicentre is in Northwestern Kashmir.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), an international, non-profit NGO that shares real-time data on earthquakes recorded in Northwest Kashmir, reports that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 31 km.
According to data from the United States Geological Survey, the quake was recorded 58 km north-west of Barishal, Pakistan.
1,896,000 people are estimated to have felt weak shaking, 731,000 light, and 13,000 moderate.

In October 2025, a 3.2-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Karachi. A month earlier, a 5.5-magnitude earthquake was felt in areas of KP.
